Team Notes

·         ULM Captains: WR Rashon Ceaser (Offense), LB Ray Stovall (Defense) and SP Justin Manton (Special Teams)

·         Wake Forest Captains: CB Merrill Noel, S Ryan Janvian, LB Hunter Williams, FB Jordan Garside and LB Brandon Chubb

·         ULM won the opening coin toss and deferred to the second half.

·         Thursday's game against Wake Forest marked the first time since 2007 that ULM opened the season at home… The Warhawks hosted Tulsa on Aug. 30, 2007 in a nationally-televised contest (ESPN2).

·         ULM forced a turnover in the third quarter (interception of John Wolford)… With the turnover, the Warhawks have now forced a turnover in 27 straight games (third longest active streak in the country).

·         The seven-point victory is the largest over an FBS opponent on opening day since 1991 when the Warhawks defeated UL-Lafayette 21-10.

·         ULM improved to 2-0 in the all-time series against the Demon Deacons… The Warhawks won 21-19 a season ago in Winston-Salem (Sept. 14, 2013).

·         Attendance: 21,003

Offense Notes

·         Centarius Donald set a new career-high with 26 carries… He also went over the 100-yard mark with 117 rushing yards.

·         Pete Thomas scored the only offensive touchdown of the game as his nine-yard rushing score with 3:37 to play gave the Warhawks a 17-10 lead… ULM went on to claim the contest by the same margin.

·         Tyler Cain hauled in four catches, a new career-best for the junior.

·         Kenzee Jackson led the Warhawks in receptions (six) and receiving yards (83).

Defense Notes

·         The ULM defense limited Wake Forest to 94 total yards… The last time the Warhawks' defense limited an opponent to fewer than 100 yards was on Sept. 1, 2005 when Northwestern State tallied 63 total yards of offense.

·         The defense held Wake Forest to -3 yards rushing… It is the first time since 2012 (-9, Sept. 29 at Tulane) that the Warhawks allowed 0 or fewer rushing yards.

·         Mitch Lane recorded his fourth career interception and returned it for a touchdown to even the game at 10-10 with 4:02 in the third quarter… His 31-yard interception return (on a pass attempt by John Wolford) was the longest of his career and it was also his first career score.

Special Teams Notes

·         Justin Manton's 67-yard punt in the second quarter was the third longest of his career… The 67-yard boot is also tied for 10th in program history.

·         Justin Manton hit his first field goal of the season in Thursday's contest… His successful 30-yard field goal came in the 3rd quarter and put him into fifth in career scoring (176 points).

·         Tyler Cain set a new career-mark with 52 kick return yards… His previous high was 38 yards at Arkansas State (Nov. 8, 2012).
