ULM Falls to Sun Belt Leader UALR

MONROE, La. – Christina Gray garnered her first career double-double as the ULM women's basketball team fell 79-41 to UALR on Saturday afternoon in Fant-Ewing Coliseum.

Gray led the Warhawks (5-10, 1-5 SB) with a career-high 17 points and 10 rebounds.

UALR's (13-2, 6-0 SBC) Taylor Gault led all scorers with 20 points.

UALR opened the game on an 11-2 run before two free throws by Alayshia Hunter cut the Trojans lead to seven (11-4) with 16:11 remaining in the half.

The Trojans used another 19-7 run to stretch the lead to 30-11 with 6:29 left before the break.

Over the final 6:21 of the half, UALR scored 19 points to take a double-digit lead (47-20) into the locker room.

The Warhawks came out of the break on an 11-2 run, sparked by a Gray jumper, to cut the lead to 20 (31-51) with 13:46 left in the game.

ULM played even with the Trojans over the next few minutes as they scored seven points while limiting the visiting team to just eight points, but UALR finished the game on a 20-3 run to preserve the victory.

The Warhawks take the court again on Monday as they travel to Lafayette, Louisiana to take on UL-Lafayette at 5:00 p.m. in Earl K. Long Gymnasium.
