MONROE, La. – Appalachian State's Jane Cline scored a pair of goals to lift the Mountaineers over the ULM soccer program, 2-0 on Fridayat the ULM Soccer Complex.

ULM (6-11-1, 0-7 SBC) moved to 6-5-1 at home this season and 14-12-2 at the ULM Soccer Complex since 2013.

“The difference in this game compared to all the other games this season was that we had a hard time connecting passes to give ourselves good opportunities,” said ULM head coach Roberto Mazza. “It's not a lack of effort or dedication, it's just a matter of settling the ball down and moving it so we can get in transition moving forward.”

Cline scored in the 18th minute for the Mountaineers (7-5-3, 3-2-1 SBC) when she chipped in a deflected pass from Sam Childress. The second came in the 69th minute on a low shot from 25 yards out, also assisted by Childress.

Senior Mariah Mitchell, freshman Cke'Lana Caesar and freshman Maia Mumford each fired a pair of shots. Junior Whitney Tuckfield and sophomore Danielle Sabathe also registered shots in the contest.

In net, freshman Brooke-Lynn Scroggins, who entered the game leading the conference in saves, stopped 11 shots. Scroggins is the reigning Warhawk Female of the Week winner. Megan Roberson recorded six shots and the win for the Mountaineers.

Defensively, junior Whitney Tuckfield and freshman Kelsey Dazalla played all 90 minutes. The duo are the only two Warhawks to start all 18 games this season. Junior Mary Ashton Lembo also played 90 minutes at midfield.

ULM will close out the weekend on Senior Day when it hosts Texas State at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday at the ULM Soccer Complex. The Warhawks have defeated the Bobcats two consecutive years, 2-1 each meeting.
