MONROE, La. – Leading their teams to undefeated weekends, Tylor Ongwae from ULM men's basketball and Sophie Rufyikiri from tennis earned Warhawk Male and Female of the Week awards, respectively, announced Tuesday.

Ongwae guided the Warhawks to a pair of road victories to vault them into first-place in the SBC standings. He averaged 20 points per game and shot .593 (16-27) from the field. He went a perfect five-for-five from the charity stripe to increase his league-leading free throw percentage to .875 (84-96).

Against UALR, he registered 21 points in a 77-61 win. He followed it up with another game-high of 19 points in the 71-68 overtime victory over Georgia Southern as he played all 45 minutes.

It marked the fourth weekly honor for Ongwae as he was also named SBC Player of the Week, College Sports Madness Player of the week and Louisiana Player of the Week on Monday.

Rufyikiri collected two singles victories over the past week, including a come-from-behind win against Northwestern State to clinch the match for the Warhawks. These results helped ULM remain unbeaten as they moved to 4-0 on the season.

Despite dropping the first set, the Bujumbura, Burundi native bounced back to garner a 3-6, 7-5, 6-0 win over Northwestern State's Natalya Krutova on court two as she clinched a 4-3 victory for the Warhawks.

On Saturday, the senior put the ULM on the board with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Anja Luethi before the home team topped the Privateers 4-3.

It marked the eighth career Warhawk of the Week award for Ongwae and third for Rufyikiri.
