MONROE, La. – Recognized as one of the top student-athletes in the nation for his combined performances athletically and in the classroom, senior Tylor Ongwae from the ULM men's basketball program was named to the Capital One Academic All-District First-Team.
On the court, Ongwae is ULM's team leader in both points and rebounds with 14.1 and 7.0, respectively. He's reached double-figures in 16 games this season with four 20-plus outings and four double-doubles.
Ongwae is the reigning Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week, College Sports Madness Player of the Week, Louisiana Sports Writers Association Player of the Week and Warhawk of the Week winner. He's won each of those awards twice this season.
