MONROE, La. – The Warhawks (21-8, 5-2 SBC) kick off an eight-game road stand with a three-game, conference series with Georgia Southern at Eagle Field.
The series will begin with a doubleheader on Saturday, March 28 with games scheduled for 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. CST. The final game of the series is slated for 12 p.m. CST on Sunday, March 29.

Scouting the Opponent
Third-year head coach Annie Smith has led the Georgia Southern to an 8-22 overall record and sit 1-8 in Sun Belt play coming into the weekend series.
The Eagles have played a loaded non-conference schedule, facing three ranked opponents. Georgia Southern to then-ranked #6 Kentucky and #5 Florida State, and are coming into the series off a 0-11 loss to #7 Georgia.
The Eagles picked up a 3-1 win over Texas earlier in the season. The Longhorns were previously ranked in the national polls.
The Eagles lone win in conference play came against UT Arlington, as Georgia Southern dropped the series 1-2. The Eagles have been swept by Texas State and then-ranked #7 UL Lafayette.
Taylor Rogers and Lexi Allen anchor the Georgis Southern offense with .355 and .282 averages, respectively. The Eagles average .247 as a team at the plate, the lowest team average in the conference.
Brooke Red leads the Georgia Southern pitching staff. Red hols a 4-10 record and a 4.14 ERA through 89.2 innings pitched. Opponents average .303 against Red as she has struck out 58 batters faced.
Series History
The marks the first time in Sun Belt play the two programs have met on the diamond.
ULM and Georgia Southern have only met once before in the 2011 Tennessee Classic as the Warhawks took a 10-5 victory over the Eagles.

•The Warhawks return to conference action to face Georgia Southern for the first time in conference play. The two programs have met once before during the 2011 season where ULM took a 10-5 decision.
•The Warhawks currently sit 5-2 in conference play and third in the conference standings, marking the best start in SBC play since the program joined in 2007. With 15 conference games left, ULM is one win away from tying 2014's mark and fi ve away from tying ULM's most win in Sun Belt action (10).
•The Warhawks picked up their 20th victory on the season defeating Texas State 7-4. This is the most wins through 29 games the Warhawks have tallied since the 1997 season where the program went 26-3. ULM is on pace to pick up 30 wins on the season for the first time since the 2001 season.
•With 22 RBI on the season, senior Alexis Cacioppo moves her career total to 114 to secure fifth place on ULM's career RBI leader board.
In the first RPI on the 2015 season, ULM ranks 83. The Sun Belt has six teams in the top 100 of the RPI rankings.
Game Rewind
MONROE, La. – Sophomore Melanie Coyne dealt a three-hit shutout as the Warhawks (21-8, 5-2 SBC) topped Central Arkansas (21-8) by a 4-0 score at the ULM Softball Complex on Wednesday.
Coyne went the distance, pitching seven innings of shutout softball, allowing only three hits and striking out six batters. Coyne earned the win to move to 7-4 on the season.
Junior Faith Bohack and sophomore Vanessa Garcia picked up two hits each on the day to account for half of the Warhawks' total hits, including Bohack knocking her third triple on the season.
Junior Amye Barre delivered a two-RBI single with seniors Miyuki Navarrete and Alexis Cacioppo picking up an RBI apiece.
The Warhawks continued their trend of scoring early, picking up two runs in the first inning and marking the 15th game ULM has scored in the first inning.
