MONROE, La. – The Warhawks (24-9, 8-2 SBC) return to conference action with a chance to win the most Sun Belt games in program history against the Trojans as ULM travels to Troy for a three-game series.
The Warhawks are just two wins away from tying the program's season-high 10 wins in SBC play, and a sweep of the Trojans would set a new program record.
The three-game series held at the Trojan Softball Complex is set to kick off on Friday, April 3 with a doubleheader scheduled for 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. The series finale is set for Saturday, April 4 at 12 p.m.

Scouting the Opponent
First-year head coach Beth Mullins has guided the Trojans to a 19-17 overall record and a 4-5 record in Sun Belt Conference play coming into the weekend series.
Troy comes into the series after splitting a doubleheader with UAB on Tuesday night. The Blazers are currently receiving votes in the national polls.
The Trojans have face a tough non-conference schedule dropping two games to #7 Auburn and one to #9 Georgia. The Trojans defeated #8 Florida State 6-4 earlier in the season.
The Warhawks and Trojans have both faced Alabama State and SIUE on the season. With the two programs going 5-0 over the Hornets, but the Trojans dropped two games to SIUE.The Warhawks defeated the Cougars 4-3 in the first weekend of the season.
Troy opened Sun Belt play by being swept by Georgia State, but the Trojans returned the favor by sweeping Appalachian State to move to 3-3 in the conference.
Last weekend the Trojans faced #12 UL Lafayette with Troy dropping the series one game to two.
Hannah Day and Kate Benton lead the charge for the Trojans offense with .359 and .312 averages respectively. The Trojans average .253 as a team and are an extra-base hit threat. The Trojans are third in the conference in doubles (51) and fifth in home runs (32).
Jaycee Affeldt is the anchor for the Trojans' pitching staff with a 2.85 ERA trhough 103 innings and a 9-6 record on the season. Affleldt has struck out a team-high 83 batters on the year.
The pitching staff combines for 4.00 team ERA with opponents averages .283 against the Trojans.
Series History
The Warhawks and Trojans have met 28 times previously coming into the series with Troy holding an 11-17 series record.
ULM has owned the series of late as the Warhawks have won the last four meetings with the Trojans.
Leading Off
•After dropping a hard-fought battle with #2 LSU, the Warhawks return to Sun Belt action as they travel to Troy to face the Trojans. The Warhawks have won the last four meetings with Tory.
•With the sweep of Georgia Southern, the Warhawks now have two sweeps of conference opponents in Sun Belt play in 2015. This marks the first time since moving to the Sun Belt ULM has swept two conference series.
•The Warhawks currently sit 8-2 in conference play and second in the conference standings, marking the best start in SBC play since the program joined in 2007. Last weekend, the Warhawks surpass their 2014 Sun Belt win mark of six and are two wins away from tying ULM's most wins in Sun Belt action (10).
•Sitting at 24-9, the Warhawks are one win shy of tying 2014's overall win total of 25. This also marks the most wins through 32 games ULM has tallied since the 1997 season where the program went 30-3. ULM is on pace to pick up 30 wins on the season for the first time since the 2001season.
Game Rewind
BATON ROUGE, La. – The Warhawks brought the tying run to the plate in seventh inning, but the #2 LSU Tigers held on to take a 3-7 victory on Tuesday night at Tiger Park.
The Warhawks (24-9) took an early first inning lead with a two-RBI single from sophomore Vanessa Garcia, but the Tigers (33-3) would pick up seven runs off seven hits to retake the lead.
The Warhawks loaded the bases in the seventh inning and brough the tying run to the plate, but the last-inning rally was not enough to overtake the Tigers.
The Warhawks out hit the Tiger nine hits to seven, as LSU ranks as one of the top-hitting teams in the nation.
Junior Faith Bohack went 2-for-4 on the day with one RBI and scoring a run to add to the Warhawk offense.
Sophomore Melanie Coyne got the start in the circle as she went three innings, giving up six runs on six hits. Coyne was charged with the loss and moves to 9-5 on the season.
Senior Jessica Colliver and freshman Paige Porter combined for three innings of relief, allowing just one hit, one run and striking out two.
