MONROE, La. – South Alabama saved its best quarter for last en route to a 63-57 win over ULM on Saturday afternoon, spoiling the Warhawks' bid for a third consecutive victory.
Chelsea Tieuel knocked down a three-pointer with 5:12 remaining in the third quarter that upped ULM's lead to 43-35, its largest of the game. The Jaguars responded with an 11-2 run, but the third quarter ended on Daja Chase's coast-to-coast jumper and Journee Beard's three-pointer. ULM took a 50-46 lead into the final quarter.
The Jaguars (7-10, 3-5 SBC) were not deterred. Once Juliann Miller tied it at 50 with 7:33 left, the two teams traded buckets twice until Erin Autio's layup gave the Jags a 56-54 lead.
Tieuel came back with another triple at the 3:24 mark, but South Alabama took the lead for good with 2:31 showing on the clock. It would end up being a 17-7 fourth-quarter rally for the visitors.
ULM (8-9, 2-6 SBC) took its first lead of the game when Aundrea Davis and Andreanna Jackson each connected on triples to make it a 19-16 contest with 7:30 to go before halftime.
South Alabama scored the game's first eight points. Alayshia Hunter got the Warhawks on the board with a pair of free-throws that extended her make streak to 22.
ULM gets to stay at home another week. UT Arlington comes in for a 5:15 Thursday contest and Texas State follows for a noon Saturday tip-off.

-The Jaguars were just 5-for-15 from behind the arc. The Warhawks have allowed just two teams in the last 10 games to shoot 38 percent or better.
-ULM had a 47-39 edge on the boards.
-Four Warhawks had double-digit shot attempts, including Alayshia Hunter's career-high 21.
-Hunter's game-high 22 points got her to 922 for her career. She is looking to become ULM's 18th member of the 1,000-point club. She also had 12 in the first half on the heels of a 14-point fourth quarter on Thursday.
-Hunter has consecutive 20-point games and seven for the year. She entered Saturday fourth in the Sun Belt with 16.7 ppg.
-Daja Chase's 12 rebounds were one off a career-high. She came into the game second in the Sun Belt with 8.6 per game.
-Emery Wilson had two swats, her fourth multi-block game this year.
