FROM COACH HILTZ

About the weekend: Right now I think our biggest problem is a lack of trust. When things don't go perfectly - which is often in the sport of volleyball - we panic and try to do everyone else's job instead of just doing our own job. We create chaos for ourselves, which makes it very easy for our opponent to beat us. Perhaps we got overconfident by winning the first two conference games. Sure it felt good to be "tied for first" or "undefeated" after the first weekend. But now, we are in last place by ourselves. That's the way it's going to be this year in the Sun Belt. Lots of movement week to week. We have to be ready to play each night and the last two nights we were nowhere close to being ready to play.

Looking forward: Hopefully, we can figure this out quickly. I'm not so worried about the losses as I am about our attitude and mental performance. Losses we can recover from. Lack of heart and lack of desire we cannot. Hopefully, Tuesday provides us an opportunity to find our rhythm again before we have to go down to Lafayette.

UP NEXT

The Warhawks will take a quick break from Sun Belt play when they host non-conference regional rival Louisiana Tech on Tuesday night.
