FROM COACH HILTZ

About the match: We gave away the first set by playing scared and tentative volleyball at the end of the set. We were in position to win the set because of our aggression and attention to details. Giving away the set was all that App needed. They smelled blood in the water and they went on the attack. I respect them for that and wish our team could find that.

About the players: Players have to realize that they are expected to perform at their best every day. We had players tonight that did half their job well and thought it would be enough. When the other team is committing two blockers to one certain player in every rotation, it's the responsibility of the setter to recognize that and set elsewhere. We didn't do that very well tonight. When the setter makes a correct decision with the ball, it's the responsibility of the hitter to put the ball away for a point. We hit out, into the block or into the net with only one blocker or even with no block up tonight. True Division I volleyball players dominate at the net if the opponent chooses not to block them. We were not able to do that tonight and therefore we lost.

Looking forward: We will need to play much better on Sunday if we want to pretend to compete with a really talented and big Coastal Carolina team.
