Monroe, La. - The ULM volleyball team will take its final road trip of the regular season to UT Arlington and Texas State on Friday and Saturday before returning home for the final five matches of the regular season.
NOTEABLES
-ULM enters the weekend off of two losses, to Appalachian State and Coastal Carolina.
-UT Arlington enters the weekend off of a 2-1 record from its most recent games. The Mavericks suffered losses to Georgia State and Texas State with their most recent win against Georgia Southern. ULM and UT Arlington have played each other dating back to 1983 and the Mavericks lead the series. The Warhawks last win over the Mavericks was in Arlington last year.
-Texas State will enter the weekend on a seven-game win streak that began against Appalachian State on October 2. The only Bobcat loss in Sun Belt play was to Coastal Carolina. ULM and Texas State have played against each other since 1984 and the Bobcats lead the series. Much like the seven-game win streak Texas State holds now in the 2016 season, the Bobcats also hold a seven-game win streak in the series as the last time the Warhawks nabbed a win over Texas State was in 2005.
FROM COACH HILTZ
About the weekend: I'm looking forward to seeing how well we can implement the few things we worked on in a short week of practice this week. Our focus is still to just keep trying to get better every day and see what happens. Hopefully we can find our peak level of play again. We haven't really had it since the opening weekend of conference play. If we can find our max performance level again, we can certainly still be players in the SBC.
UP NEXT
After the weekend in Texas, the team will return home for a five-game homestand that will close out the regular season. The homestand will start with South Alabama next Friday, November 4.
