JONESBORO, Ark. – ULM was held to 93 total yards in the first half, while host Arkansas State passed for 258 yards in the first two quarters, as the Red Wolves handed the Warhawks a 51-10 defeat in Sun Belt Conference action on Saturday night.

THE BASICS

TURNING POINT

-Arkansas State held ULM to just 14 yards on 11 total first quarter plays on the way to jumping out to a two-score lead via 231 total offensive yards in the quarter.

HOW IT HAPPENED

-Arkansas State put together four scoring drives over 65 yards in length (66, 71, 74, and 92) to gain its lead before ULM got on the board with a long drive of its own.

-The Warhawks traveled 71 yards in 13 plays, capped by a Craig Ford 21-yard field goal with 5:15 remaining in the second quarter put ULM on the board.

-Arkansas State added two more short touchdown runs before the half to take a 42-3 lead into the break.

-The hosts added two third quarter scores, a seven-yard passing touchdown and a 27-yard field goal, before Warhawk Thomas Koufie broke free for a 61-yard rushing touchdown late in the third quarter that proved to be the final score of the night.

 

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE

-ULM finished with 336 total yards after the 93-yard offensive first half.

-Both Will Collins (9-for-15, 87 yards passing) and Caleb Evans (5-for-14, 75 yards passing) took snaps at quarterback for ULM, as they combined for 162 yards in the air.

-A total of 10 different Warhawks recorded a pass reception and ULM had seven players record at least one rushing attempt.

-Xavier Brown hauled in the longest ULM pass of the night, good for 66 yards, while Tre Perrier was on the receiving end of 32 yard pass as well.

-Aided by the 61-yard rushing touchdown, Koufie led the ULM rushing attack with 67 total yards. As a group, the Warhawks ran for 174 total yards on the ground.

-Arkansas State finished with 335 total yards in the first half and finished the game with 434 total yards. The Red Wolves tallied 316 passing yards as 11 different receivers tallied receptions.

-The loss dropped ULM to 1-12 during the month of October over the last three seasons.

-The Warhawks return to home to JPS Field at Malone Stadium next Saturday when they host South Alabama. The contest will kickoff just after 4:00 p.m.
