Boone, N.C. – The ULM Soccer team was blitzed early and often on Friday as Coastal Carolina scored four goals in the opening half in route to a 4-0 result on Friday.
THE TURNING POINT
In the 15th minute, Coastal's Daniella Famili played a cross into Kayla Christian who volleyed it home to give the Chanticleers a lead that they wouldn't relinquish the rest of the afternoon.
NOTABLES
-Coastal Carolina freshman Montanna Hill entered the game as a substitute in the 34th minute with the Chanticleers leading 1-0, and the freshman proceeded to notch three goals over the final 12 minutes of the first half.
-ULM finished with four shots in the game – one each from Nancy Kirk Herrington, Mary Ashton Lembo, Peyton Johnson and Erika Wiest – with Lembo's shot the only one on goal in the match.
-Warhawk senior Whitney Tuckfield was the only ULM field player to play all 90 minutes as 19 total Warhawks saw action on the field Friday.
-Due to the path of Hurricane Matthew, the Warhawks and Chanticleers played Friday in Boone, N.C. on the campus of Appalachian State.
-ULM and Coastal Carolina on Friday met for the first time on Friday as the Chanticleers just joined the Sun Belt this season.
