Monroe, La. -  The ULM women's basketball team will returns home to Fant-Ewing Coliseum to take on state foe LSU-Alexandria on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

NOTEABLES

Last time out: The Warhawks fell to Nicholls State 54-73 in their second road contest of the season. ULM was troubled by turnovers, as the Colonels compounded 28 points off of turnovers.

Warhawk Players: Gabriella Cortez stepped up over the weekend with a career-high 31 points and 11 rebounds for the team's only double-double against Nicholls.

Louisiana teams: ULM has an 11 game non-conference schedule and seven of those games are against schools located in Louisiana. The Warhawks have already played two Louisiana schools in Centenary and Nicholls State. ULM currently holds a 1-1 record over Louisiana schools before taking on LSU-Alexandria on Tuesday night.

Opponent: This contest will be an exhibition game for LSU-Alexandria. This is the women's basketball team's third season as a program. The Generals have not won an exhibition game yet this season, having already faced ULL and Northwestern State. The team graduated its leading scorer from the 2015-16 roster as well as two other guards. LSU-Alexandria players to watch are Bianca Harvey and Toneshia Rainey.

Non-conference schedule: The Warhawks have a total of 11 non-conference schedule games in the 2016 season. The last time that ULM had a winning non-conference schedule was in 2015 with a 6-3 record.

Head-to-head: After Tuesday's game ULM will have played LSU-Alexandria for the third season in a row. In the last two years the Warhawks are undefeated against the Generals.

FROM COACH DOW

About the opponent: LSU-Alexandria is a very unique opponent as they play an up-tempo style. The game will be very fast paced with a lot of shots that go up in a hurry. It will be different from what we've seen already this season. The other thing that LSU-Alexandria has shown is that they have the ability to come away with a lot of offensive rebounds.

What we need to do: Our points of focus will be our transition defense as well as it being critical that we block out. Offensively we've got to make a concerted effort to get paint touches, whether that is in transition, feeding the post, drives and offensive rebounds ourselves. We do have a size advantage and it's something that we need to try to take advantage of.

UP NEXT

The Warhawks will not have another game until after Thanksgiving. ULM will take on regional rival Louisiana Tech next Tuesday, Nov. 29, inside Fant-Ewing Coliseum. Tip off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
