FROM COACH HILTZ
About the match: Our communication is one sided in that we are talking a lot but nobody is listening to what others are saying. We have to remember that truly effective communication has to have both parts. I felt like we started off entirely too concerned about what Troy was going to do and allowed ourselves to overthink everything instead of playing aggressive, confident volleyball. Our hitters struggled to put the ball away and score points. Our setting was inconsistent all game and our passing, while mostly good, still needs to be much better in order for us to succeed.
Looking forward: I told the girls we need to flush this one quickly. Get rest tonight, do homework, whatever we need to do to get our minds right again because we have UL-Lafayette coming in on Tuesday.
About UL-Lafayette: It never matters what the records are for either team when we play the Cajuns....it's always a battle. And it should be when you play your rivals. I anticipate nothing less than a fantastic battle on Tuesday. I hope our students, fans and the community goes out and votes and then comes out to Fant-Ewing to help Warhawk Volleyball get a great win Tuesday night.
UP NEXT
The Warhawks will now take on UL-Lafayette on Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m. inside Fant-Ewing Coliseum.
