NEW ORLEANS – First-year head coach Matt Viator and his staff learned the official dates of their eight league games as the Sun Belt Conference schedule was released on Thursday afternoon.
ULM's full 12-game slate includes previously announced non-conference games against Southern (Sept. 3), at Oklahoma (Sept. 10), at Auburn (Oct. 1) and at New Mexico (Oct. 22).
ULM will open conference play on the road as the Warhawks travel to Statesboro, Ga., for a Sept. 17 matchup against Georgia Southern. The team's next two conference games will both take place at JPS Field at Malone Stadium. First up will be Idaho on Oct. 8, followed by a Oct. 15 tilt against Texas State.
The Warhawks will close out the month of October with a road contest at Arkansas State on Oct. 29.
ULM's next two opponents are both teams that return to the Warhawks' schedule after rotating off for the 2014 and 2015 seasons. ULM and South Alabama will tangle in Monroe, La., on Nov. 5. The following week, the squad will make its second trip of the season to Georgia as they play at Georgia State on Nov. 12.
The final road contest of the season will take place on Nov. 19 as the Warhawks travel to Boone, N.C. to face Appalachian State. After a bye week, ULM will host in-state rival UL Lafayette in the regular season finale on Dec. 3.
