Jaguars Outlast Warhawks Late For Saturday Victory

Monroe, La. – The ULM men's basketball team couldn't overcome a hot shooting South Alabama team in route to a 66-63 loss on Saturday afternoon. The Jaguars shot 55 percent in the second half to grab the Sun Belt road victory.

THE TURNING POINT                                                     

-The Warhawks trailed 31-30 at the half before the Jaguars got red hot in the second half and used a 6-for-6 stretch in the final minute to ice the game away.

NOTABLES

-The Warhawks were led in the contest by Sam McDaniel who had 20 points, just one off of his career-high. McDaniel made a career-high eight field goals shooting 8-of-18 from the floor.

-Travis Munnings added 15 points for the Warhawks while also grabbing eight rebounds, while Roderick Taylor came off the bench to grab a career-best six rebounds in just 13 minutes. His previous best came against Georgia State last Monday night.

-The Warhawks had four players register a block, as Marcus Washington, Roderick Taylor, Munnings and McDaniel each picked one up. The four blocks is one off the team's season high of five in the Warhawks home game against Georgia Southern.

-For the Warhawks, Saturday was the 600th men's game inside Fant-Ewing Coliseum. ULM has played in the building for 46 seasons and holds a 423-177 mark all-time in Fant-Ewing.

-The Jaguars were led in Saturday's contest by Ken Williams who had 21 points on five-of-nine shooting while also making four-of-six from beyond the arc. Josh Ajayi added 13 points and 11 rebounds while Don MuepoKelly had 11 points and five blocks.

-Following Saturday's contest, the Warhawks stay home for a Monday night matchup with the Troy Trojans. Tip off will be at 7:00 p.m. inside Fant-Ewing Coliseum.
