Monroe, La. -  The ULM women's basketball team's second half effort on Thursday night was not enough to erase a slow start against Coastal Carolina as the hosts handed ULM a 75-48 loss in Sun Belt Conference action.  

TURNING POINT

Coastal Carolina came out of the gates on fire, as the team hit its first nine shots of the game on the way to finishing the first quarter shooting 15-for-19 to open up a 19-point lead after the first 10 minutes.

NOTABLES

-Alexis Collins led ULM with 12 points on the night, shooting 6-of-14 from the floor. The freshman filled out the rest of her stat line with five assists, two defensive rebounds and one steal.

-Gabriella Cortez followed Collins with 11 points of her own on 5-of-9 shooting from the floor. The junior filled out her stat line with three rebounds (two defensive) and one assist.

-Andreanna Jackson and Carissa Moody each finished with eight points in the loss, with Moody adding a team-high nine rebounds for the Warhawks.

-Coastal Carolina finished the night with a 40-26 scoring advantage off points in the paint and notched a 24-11 advantage in points off turnovers. ULM turned the ball over 20 times, while Coastal Carolina had 16 turnovers.

-The hosts had four players finish in double figure scoring, led by Alexis Robinson's game-high 16 points as she added 12 rebounds for a double-double.

-The Warhawks close out the weekend with their final road game of the regular season at Appalachian State on Saturday afternoon.
