ATLANTA -  The ULM women's basketball team suffered a tough 87-35 loss on the road to Georgia State Thursday night in Sun Belt Conference play in the first of two games this weekend in Georgia for the Warhawks.

TURNING POINT

ULM ended the first quarter only six points down with the score at 19-13, but the Warhawks were held to just seven total points across the second and third quarters as the host Panthers opened up their lead.

NOTABLES

-Stephanie Ratliff led the Warhawks with eight points,  shooting 3-of-5 from the floor and 2-of-2 from the charity stripe. The senior filled out her stat line with five rebounds (three defensive), one block and two steals.

-Gabriella Cortez followed closely behind with seven points of her own and shot 3-of-8 from the floor. The junior grabbed three rebounds (two defensive), had one assist and two steals.

-Makeba Ponder led Georgia State with the game-high 16 points, shooting 5-of-8 from the floor, with four of her made baskets coming from behind the arch. Ponder also grabbed two rebounds, one assist and two steals.

UP NEXT

The Warhawks remain in Georgia as they travel to Georgia Southern on Saturday to close out the weekend. Saturday's game will be broadcast on ESPN3.
