MONROE, La. - The ULM women's basketball team takes on UTA on Thursday night as the Warhawks host the final to regular season Sun Belt Conference games of the season.
NOTABLES
Last time out: ULM's second half comeback fell short with a 79-61 loss on the road to Appalachian State in Sun Belt Conference play last Saturday afternoon. A tight game at the start, Appalachian State used a 13-2 run to close out the first quarter and took a 21-9 lead into the second quarter as they opened up the lead before ULM's comeback attempt.
End of regular season: The Warhawks close the regular season this weekend with two games remaining. The team will face UTA on Thursday evening and Texas State on Saturday afternoon.
Opponent: The Mavericks have won four of the last five games on their schedule, losing only to Georgia State in that combination. UTA holds a 7-4 record on the road with five of those wins coming in conference play. The Mavericks are led by Rebekah VanDijk in six different categories: free throws (95), points (401), field goals (153), rebounds (231) and blocks (347).
Three-Point Shooting Challenge: The three-point challenge is a Sun Belt Conference initiative set up to help save lives from cancer by raising donations for every three-pointer made during games in February through March. More information can be found here.
Sun Belt Tournament: All 12 teams will gain a bid to the Sun Belt Conference Championship Tournament. The teams will descend on New Orleans, La. and compete in Lake Front Arena from March 7-12. Tickets can be purchased through the ULM ticket office.
