Baton Rouge, La. - The ULM softball team fell on Tuesday in midweek contest at No. 10 LSU 9-1 in Baton Rouge as the host Tigers had two big offensive innings.

TURNING POINT

-After ULM took the lead in the top of the first via an LSU illegal pitch, the Tigers responded with four runs of their own in the bottom of the first inning on Tuesday and never looked back.

NOTABLES

-The Warhawks struggled to get the bats going, collecting only two hits - one each off the bats of Melanie Coyne and Casey Waterman.

-ULM starter Paige Porter was saddled with the loss after giving up four hits and four unearned runs in the first inning, her only inning of work. 

-The Tigers had a balanced offensive attack, led Aliyah Andrews' two hits as eight different LSU batters had hits. Sahvanna Jaquish and Constance Quinn each had a pair of RBI in the game for LSU as well.

-The Warhawks step back into SBC play on Saturday when they begin a three-game series at Coastal Carolina, with the doubleheader against the Chanticleers beginning at 1:00 p.m. CST from Conway.
