STATESBORO, Ga. – Georgia Southern starting pitcher Jacob Condra-Bogan stymied ULM batters all night as the Eagles' starter tossed a complete game and held ULM to just eight hits as Georgia Southern handed the Warhawks a 9-3 loss in game one of the teams' Sun Belt Conference weekend series.

TURNING POINT
-Down a run, ULM saw Cade Harper get thrown out at the plate to end the top of the second inning after trying to score from first on Anthony Herrera's double down the left field line. The Warhawks would not get another baserunner until the sixth inning.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-Georgia Southern got the scoring started in the bottom of the first inning with an RBI double down the left field line before the hosts added to the lead with a two-out, two-run homer in the bottom of the third inning. Georgia Southern went on to post a run in the fourth on a sacrifice fly before the Eagles tallied three runs in the fifth via a groundout, a wild pitch and an RBI single.
-ULM's first run of the night came in the top of the seventh when Johnny DeLaCruz doubled down the left field line to open the inning before later scoring on Turner Francis' RBI single back up the middle.
-Georgia Southern added on two runs in the bottom of the seventh via a ULM error and a sacrifice fly before Cade Stone connected on a two-run homer in the top of the eighth inning. Stone's homer was the first-ever home run to clear Georgia Southern's new 25-foot high right field wall, which was put in prior to the start of this season.
-ULM starter Josh Leone was saddled with the loss, allowing six runs (five earned) on seven hits in his four innings of work.
-Anthony Herrera and Francis each finished with two of ULM's seven hits, while Stone (two RBI), DeLaCruz, Harper and Blake Buckman each added hits in the loss.
-Condra-Bogan improved to 2-0 on the season for Georgia Southern, scattering the eight ULM hits over his complete game, striking out seven without allowing a walk.
UP NEXT
-The series between the Warhawks and Eagles continues with another 5:30 p.m. CST start on Saturday night before a 12:00 p.m. CST start in the finale on Sunday. ULM will then return home for home and home midweek series with Northwestern State next week.
