Warhawks Fall to Troy on Senior Day; 2018-19 Season Comes to a Close

MONROE, La. – The final door has closed for ULM soccer this year, as the Warhawks dropped their final match of the season to Troy, in a 2-0 decision. ULM finishes the season 0-17 overall and 0-10 in Sun Belt play.

It looked as if the Warhawks and Trojans would be heading into the locker rooms at the half knotted at 0-0, but a well laid cross from Troy's Maddie Brune landed at the feet of Nathali DaSilva who sent the ball into the net far post.

Returning from the break, `ULM made sure to turn up the offensive attack, more than doubling the number of shots fired off in the first half.

Unfortunately, it took only one more goal from Trojan Natalie Melilo to seal the deal for Troy. Melilo got the assist from teammate Kendra Cashion on her fourth goal of the season.

Senior Brooke-Lynn Scroggins saw all 90 minutes in goal making five saves and allowing just two goals.

ULM reached double-digit shots with the help of freshman Mackenzie Bell and Amanda Castillo who made three shots at the goal, each. Alexiss Trudeau, Maelwenn Gaiffas, Sheena Martin, and Erika Wiest also contributed to the Warhawks' 11 attempts.

The Warhawks were originally scheduled to host Grambling State on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. in a game that was postponed earlier this season due to a mid-game rain storm, but the teams will no longer meet as ULM closes out the 2018-19 season.

The ULM soccer staff would like to thank all of our fans for joining us this weekend for Homecoming and Senior Day. Thank you all for a wonderful season, see you in 2019.
