MONROE, La. – The recognition has already started rolling in for sophomore guard,
Arsula Clark. Clark was named the College Sports Madness Sun Belt Player of the Week on Monday (Nov. 19) after leading the ULM's women's basketball team to a fourth-quarter 69-60 comeback against McNeese on Sunday (Nov. 18). College Sports Madness identifies the players who have had the greatest impact to their team from each conference and on a national basis
"Arsula had a tremendous all-around game in helping us defeat McNeese," said head coach
Jeff Dow. "This is a terrific honor for Arsula to ignite her sophomore year especially given the season she had last year as a freshman."
The returning All-Louisiana Freshman of the Year posted a career-high 27 points against the Cowgirls as the Warhawks overcame a nine-point deficit and scored 30 points in the fourth quarter, taking the lead for the first and final time with only two minutes left in regulation.
"Arsula came up big for us offensively throughout the game when we were struggling to make shots. And in the final minutes not only did she make some huge baskets but also came up with a critical assist and steal that allowed us to get some separation at the end," said Dow.
After starting the season slow, Clark is now leading the Warhawks with 13.7 points per game and 6.7 rebounds per game.
Clark and her teammates hit the road next weekend, traveling to New Orleans to face the UNO Privateers on Sunday (Nov. 25) at 2 p.m.
