LAFAYETTE, La. – The ULM softball team wrapped up a long night in Lafayette, dropping game one of the final Sun Belt series of the season, to ULL in a 14-inning, 1-0 decision. The Warhawks and Ragin Cajuns will face each other again in a double-header, set to begin at 1 p.m. at Lamson Park.
There would be 13 scoreless innings before Louisiana put themselves on the board in the bottom of the 14
th with an RBI single by Brittany Rodriguez, scoring Casidy Chaumont from second, who reached earlier on a Warhawk miscue.
ULM managed five hits in the loss, off the bats of
Jayden Mount, Hogan Hunter,
Cheyanne Lyon,
Ana Hogan, and
Megan Shaw.
Sophomore Jesse Watts was booked with the loss; Watts and starting pitcher
Paige Murray combined for three strikeouts and no earned runs. Murray allowed seven hits over 10.1 innings and forced 28 putouts from ULL batters.
