MONROE, La. – With just over four weeks until the ULM volleyball team loads the busses for their first tournament of the 2018-19 season, head coach
Russ Friedland has announced his final staff and roster changes as he prepares for his first year at the helm for the Warhawks.
"We are three weeks away from report day and I couldn't be more excited to start with this group of players and staff. We are all looking at the same goals and there is a renewed energy around this volleyball program. It's going to be a fun ride. I hope Warhawk Nation can come experience this alongside with us this fall," Friedland said.
To round out his roster, Friedland has added his 15
th Warhawk in
Emma Vann. Vann, a graduate of Parkview High School in Georgia, earned first-team all-area junior and senior year, second-team all-county her junior year and first-team all-county her senior year in Lilburn.
Vann also earned her team's MVP award her junior year after helping lead the Panthers to the first-round of state playoffs. She plans to major in business and minor in communications at ULM.
"Adding Emma to the Warhawk family was a great addition," Friedland expressed. "She adds a versatility that we need in our program. Her ability to jump in and play any position on the net speaks volumes to her athleticism. I'm excited to have her in the gym and see what she can do on the floor."
Joining Friedland on the sideline will be volunteer coach
Keisha Edwards.
"Keisha was a fantastic addition to my staff and our program. She brings an infectious energy that's needed in the gym. She's just thirsty to learn more and that too rubs off on our players in a great way," Friedland said.
Edwards will be joining the ULM staff after a stint at Fayetteville State University.
