TROY, Ala. – Drew Frederic went 3-for-5 and drove in four runs to lead Troy to a 15-4 win over ULM to open a three-game Sun Belt Conference series on Friday, May 10 at Riddle-Pace Field. Frederic accounted for seven total bases, finishing with two doubles and a triple.

Troy (26-24, 13-12 Sun Belt) recorded 19 hits, with nine going for extra bases. The first five hitters in the Trojan lineup went a combined 13-for-26 with 11 RBI.

ULM (22-26, 10-14) got off to a quick start as Joey Jordan turned on the first pitch of the game from Troy starter Cory Gill and doubled down the right-field line, then advanced to third on a flyout before scoring on Chad Bell's RBI single to right center for a 1-0 lead.

The Trojans sent eight batters to the plate in the bottom of the second and scored four runs on five hits. Dalton Sinquefield's leadoff home run to right field off ULM starter Trey Jeans tied the score at 1-1. With a runner at second and two outs, Troy strung together three-straight doubles – from Reed Smith, Rigsby Mosley and Frederic – that produced three more runs as the Trojans took the lead for good at 4-1.

With a runner at second and third with two outs in the bottom of the third, Manning Early delivered a two-run double down the left-field line off reliever Miles Dunn as Troy moved out to a 6-1 lead.

The Trojans extended their lead to 7-1 in the bottom of the fifth on Cole Prestegard's sacrifice fly to center scored Sinquefield, who opened the frame with a single to left field.

ULM scratched out two runs on two hits in the top of the sixth to cut its deficit to 7-3. Andrew Beesley drew a leadoff walk and Ryan Humeniuk followed with a single through the right side. Despite being behind in the count 0-2, Masen Prososki came through with an RBI double down the left-field line that scored Beesley from second. Cameron Horton was hit by a pitch to load the bases for Logan Wurm, but Gill coaxed Wurm to ground into a double play, scoring Humeniuk from third, and retired Braedon Barrett on a flyout to left field.

Troy answered with two runs on four hits in the bottom of the sixth to regain the momentum. Mosley opened the frame with an infield single down the third-base line, advanced to second on a wild pitch from Dylan Marsh and scored on Frederic's double down the right-field line. With one away, Chase Smartt sent an RBI single through the right side that scored Frederic from third to give the Trojans a 9-3 advantage.

With two outs in the bottom of the seventh, Frederic walked, stole second and third in advance of Smartt's RBI single up the middle as Troy took a 10-3 lead.

The Warhawks posted their final run of the game in the top of the eighth on a sacrifice fly to center field by Horton that scored Beesley, who walked to lead off the inning.
