Self became a five-time All-Union County and five-time all-region selection. She was named Region 1-2A Player of the Year as both a junior and senior. In addition, Self was selected Daily Journal Player of Year and Union County Player of the Year as a senior.

"We're really excited about Gara Beth joining our Warhawk family," Williams said. "She's a fierce competitor and an incredible scorer. Gara Beth fills a big need for us on the perimeter. She'll be an impact player on and off the floor, and we're thrilled to have someone from such a well-respected, winning program bring championship intangibles to our team daily."

She played in the Mississippi Association of Coaches (MAC) 2019 Mississippi-Alabama All-Star Game and was selected to participate in the Northeast Mississippi Basketball Coaches Association (NEMBCA) 2019 All-Star Game in June.

As a senior, Self averaged 19.4 points, 2.9 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 2.8 steals per game. She shot 48 percent from the field (259-of-537), including 33 percent (43-of-130) from 3-point range, and 69 percent (137-of-199) from the free-throw line in 2018-19. Self posted 19 20-point games as a senior, including three 30-point efforts. Self scored a career-best 33 points against Walnut, hitting 11-of-21 field-goal attempts, including 2-of-3 3-pointers, and 9-of-13 free-throw attempts.

"I'm excited to be a part of the ULM program because I feel like I can make a difference here," Self said. "I can't wait to see where Coach Brooks and her staff take this new team. I'm looking forward to working hard to help get this team back on the map. I feel like my experiences at Ingomar have helped to prepare me for this, and I'm blessed with the best coaches, family and friends that support me as I take on this next chapter."

She also averaged in double figures as both a junior (10.9 points per game) and sophomore (11.6 ppg.) for the Lady Falcons.

Self played AAU basketball for NMB Hoop Dreams, coached by Ron Nichols.
