Conway, S.C. - ULM senior third baseman
Chad Bell and senior left-handed pitcher
Trey Jeans were each named to the 2019 All-Sun Belt Conference Tournament team, which was announced at the conclusion of the tournament, played at Springs Brooks Stadium.
Bell had a strong finish to his collegiate career. He hit safely in 23 of the final 24 games of his career, going 7-for-21 (.333) in five games in the Sun Belt Tournament, including a double and three home runs. Bell drove in 11 runs in the tournament while scoring six times. He also drew three walks and stole a base. In the final game of his career, Bell had his second multi-homer game, hitting two home runs and picking up four RBIs against Coastal Carolina. Bell finished with 21 home runs to set a new single-season program record, and finished second in a single season with 159 total bases and tied for fourth in a single season with 61 RBIs.
Jeans helped ULM pick up its second win in this year's tournament, saving one of his best outings for his final trip to the hill in a Warhawk uniform. Jeans threw 7 2/3 shutout innings against top seed and regular season champion Texas State, giving up just three hits with three walks and four strikeouts, picking up his fifth win of the season. Jeans finished his senior season with a 5-8 record with a 3.76 ERA, giving up 37 walks while striking out 69 batters.
ULM entered the SBC Tournament as the No. 10 seed, and won three straight games to open the tournament for the first time since winning three straight games to open the Southland Conference Tournament in 1995. The Warhawks beat No. 7 South Alabama 12-7, No. 1 Texas State 8-0 and No. 4 UT Arlington 18-5 (7 innings) before dropping a pair of games to Coastal Carolina on Saturday to end their tournament run.
ULM finished the season with a record of 27-31.
