Monroe, La. – ULM assistant baseball coach Brandon Belanger has been invited to speak at the 2020 American Baseball Coaches Association Convention Clinic, the ABCA announced this week.

The clinics begin Friday, Jan. 3 and run through Sunday, Jan. 5, in Nashville.

"I am truly humbled to be asked to be a speaker this year at the American Baseball Coaches Association Clinic in Nashville," Belanger said.  "Representing ULM at this renowned event is an honor that I am really looking forward to. The ABCA is a clinic I have tremendously benefited from in the past by learning from some of the best coaches in the game and I hope to be able to pass that forward."

Belanger is set to begin his third season on the baseball coaching staff at ULM in 2020. Belanger is the first base coach, and also assists with the pitching staff. He also organizes camps and helps with field maintenance. Belanger's presentation is titled "Outfield Play, the Hyper-Focused Way."

"Coach Belanger speaking at the American Baseball Coaches Association Clinic is a prestigious honor," said head baseball coach Michael Federico. "To teach and talk baseball with coaching peers is amazing and to do it on the big stage in front of coaches from all 50 states is awesome. This is huge for Coach Belanger, our ULM baseball program and our university. I am so happy for Brandon and excited to see him show his passion for the game of baseball and ULM."

Belanger will lead one of 23 clinics at the ABCA convention. Other presenters include Tim Corbin, the head coach of defending national champion Vanderbilt, former Major League Baseball manager Buck Showalter, and retired MLB players Harold Reynolds and Brett Butler.
