MONROE, La. – ULM head softball coach Molly Fichtner announced the addition of four high school signees during the early signing period. Lex Chavez, Gabby Davila, Kiley DeHart and Kinsey Kackley all signed with the Warhawks.

Chavez is a middle infielder from Riverside, California, and Martin Luther King High School. She is a four-year varsity athlete in softball and was ranked in the Top 100 on Flo Softball her freshman year. She helped Martin Luther King HS to a runner-up finish in the CIF as a freshman. She has also earned several Student of the Month honors.

"Lex comes to us from the west coast," Fichtner said. "She is going to bring us a ton of depth in the middle infield. She is an exciting and very passionate player. The Monroe community is going to fall in love with her. We cannot wait to see her in burgundy and gold representing the ULM Warhawks."

Davila is an outfielder at Pearland High School in Pearland, Texas. She was a First Team All-District selection in 2018-19 and was Offensive Player of the Year at Pearland High School in 2018-19 and 2019-20.

"Gabby comes to us from Houston, Texas," Fichtner said. "She is an outfielder and a left-handed triple threat at the plate. She breeds consistency and has been compared to ULM standout and recent graduate Sydney McKay on numerous occasions. We are thrilled to have her in Monroe."

DeHart is an outfielder from Lake Charles' Barbe High School. In 2019, she was named First Team All-District 3-5A, All-Southwest Louisiana Team, Barbe Lady Bucs Offensive Player of the Year, LSCA All-State and Under Armour Softball Factory Pre-Season All-American.

"Kiley is our home-state signee for this class," Fichtner said. "She is a true triple threat with incredible speed. There is no doubt she will be chasing the record books during her time as a Warhawk. We are so excited to welcomer her and her family to North Louisiana."

Kackley is a pitcher from McKinney, Texas, and McKinney Boyd High School. She was the 2018 Newcomer of the Year and Team MVP. In 2019, she was named Pitcher of the Year and MaxPreps Sophomore All-American. She is a captain for the 2020 team.

"Kinsey was a jackpot signee for us," Fichtner said. "She is a strong right-handed pitcher out of Texas. She is a born leader and fierce competitor that will bring ULM softball to new heights. We are so excited she chose ULM."
