BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – ULM's Jasmine Scott-Kilgo earned her third long jump crown of the 2020 indoor season and the first Sun Belt Conference Indoor title in the event of her career on Monday, Feb. 24, when she traveled 19-11 (6.07 meters) at the Birmingham CrossPlex.

Scott-Kilgo, who didn't compete in the Sun Belt Indoor Championships as a freshman, edged out Texas State's Naomi Ferdinand and Appalachian State's Peighton Simmons, who finished with marks of 19-10 3/4 and 19-7 1/2, respectively. She was one of two Warhawk women to place in the Top-10, joining Micaiah Dendy who took eighth after a leap of 18-5 1/4.

The top men's finisher in the opening day of the Sun Belt Indoor Championships was Sam Healy, who finished second in the men's long jump with a mark of 24-3 1/2. Healy, who finished an inch behind Texas State's Ronnie Briscoe Jr., improved upon his third-place showing in the event in 2019.

Grant Girtman narrowly missed a spot on the podium in the men's pole vault, clearing 15-9 1/4 (4.81 meters) to claim fourth. Girtman, who put together his best mark of the season, was less than an inch off of his personal best (15-10), which came at the 2019 Sun Belt Indoor Championships.

Rebekka Schubert completed the women's pentathlon in fifth place with a personal- and school-record 3,516 points (previous mark: 3,502 points by Danielle O'Donnel, 2012). Schubert was among the Top-6 finishers in each event, including a third-place performance in the long jump, where she cleared 18-7. Schubert wrapped up the shot put in fourth, with an indoor personal-best heave of 38-4 3/4, and took fifth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.15. She closed out the high jump (4-11) and 800-meter run (2:25.28) with a pair of sixth-place finishes.

Jakob Fudge rounded out ULM's Top-10 finishers on the day, placing 10th in the men's shot put with a heave of 47-1. Fudge produced his best toss in the event on Monday after clearing 46-4 last season.

Austin Walker finished four of the seven events in the men's heptathlon, placing second in the high jump (6-3 1/2), his top performance of the event. He was fifth in the shot put (37-7 1/4) while placing eighth in both the long jump (18-7 3/4) and the 60-meter dash (7.55). With three events remaining, Walker is currently eighth in the heptathlon standings.

The men's distance medley relay (Jaylen Wade, Cullen Davis, Adrian Harris and Kiprotich Mitei) placed seventh with a time of 11:07.69 to earn two team points.

Eric Hawkins qualified for Tuesday's 800-meter final after posting the fastest time (1:55.65) in the heats. Hawkins earned the bronze medal in last year's Sun Belt Indoor Championships.

Healy and Darshon Turk both qualified for Tuesday's 60-meter hurdles final.

Three other competitors posted personal records on Day 1: Jhavonte Perry in both the 200 meters (22.24) and 60 (6.98), Sydney Curry in the 400 (58.24) and Khrystyan Reddic in the 60 (8.04).

Through five events, the ULM women's team ranks sixth in the team standings with 15 points while the Warhawk men are in seventh place with 14.5 points.

The 2020 Sun Belt Indoor Track & Field Championships conclude on Tuesday, Feb. 25.
