MONROE, La. – The ULM Softball team returns to the ULM Softball Complex after a seven-game road stretch to host McNeese State in a midweek rematch on Wednesday, March 11, at 6 p.m.
ULM (10-13, 1-2 Sun Belt) dropped two out of three games over the weekend at Georgia Southern, but rebounded to win Sunday's series finale, 6-3.
Four ULM players boast a batting average over .300 for the season. Sophomore Korie Kreps leads the way, hitting .425 with 24 runs on 31 hits. She has also hit two doubles, two triples, has 10 RBIs and seven stolen bases.
Seniors Ana Hogan, Jessie Watts, and Jayden Mount are all hitting over .300 as well. Hogan has been a slugger for the Warhawks this season with 23 hits, eight doubles, two home runs and leads the team in RBIs with 26 while hitting .371.
Watts has hit .356 while Mount has hit .343. The two have accounted for 32 runs, nine doubles, four home runs and 34 RBIs. Junior Alysia Anderson leads the team with 12 stolen bases.
Wednesday will mark the 88th all-time meeting between the two Louisiana programs. ULM leads the series 50-37. McNeese (18-7, 3-0 Southland) won the previous matchup this year in Lake Charles, 3-1.
Senior Cori McCrary leads the way for the Cowgirls this season with a .400 batting average. She has scored 13 runs on 20 hits with four doubles, three home runs, seven RBIs and a team-leading nine stolen bases.
Junior Toni Perrin leads the team with 15 runs and four home runs while freshman Caylon Brabham leads the team with 15 RBIs.
In the circle, all of McNeese's pitchers boast under a 2.00 ERA. Sophomore Saleen Flores (7-3) has a 1.89 ERA in 44 1/3 innings pitched. She has given up 16 runs, 12 earned, on 39 hits while striking out 21 batters and issuing 13 walks.
