Warhawks Fall at Central Arkansas, 3-0

CONWAY, Ark. – The ULM soccer team fell to Central Arkansas, 3-0, Thursday night at the Bill Stephens Complex.

The Bears outshot ULM 25-4 in the match, including 11 shots on goal for UCA.

"Again, there were moments in the game today where we were really encouraged," ULM head coach Sean Fraser said. "We've made a few mistakes, but for a team that started five freshmen and really seven underclassmen, we have seen one or two positive moments. We need to continue to improve in and out of possession, but as we move forward we will continue to develop our game model."

UCA claimed the lead in the 25th minute when Gracie Hair scored off an assist by Emma Hawkins.

In the 42nd minute, junior Courtney Marten fired a shot that hit the right post. UCA kept the 1-0 lead into halftime.

Early in the second half, Marten had another good look, but her shot to the bottom left corner was stopped by UCA goalkeeper Reagan McCombs.

Moments later, UCA struck twice. First, Hadley Dickinson scored in the 51st minute. Two minutes later, Hair found the back of the net for the second time on the night for the 3-0 advantage.

Freshman Lena Göppel had a scoring opportunity in the 70th minute, but her shot was stopped by McCombs.

Junior goalkeeper Hailey Hillock tallied eight saves for ULM.

The Warhawks are back in action Sunday in Lafayette against the Ragin' Cajuns. Links to live video and stats are available on the soccer schedule page at ULMWarhawks.com.
