MONROE, La. – ULM head volleyball coach
Charlie Olson released the 2020
schedule Thursday afternoon.
The schedule features 24 matches in the regular season, while all 12 Sun Belt Conference teams will advance to the conference championship this year. The Warhawks will play 16 Sun Belt Conference matches, all against West Division opponents, along with eight non-conference matches.
ULM opens the season at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 11 with a neutral-site match against Lamar in Nacogdoches, Texas. The Warhawks face host SFA that evening at 6 p.m. before closing the weekend at 10:30 a.m. Saturday against Houston Baptist.
The following weekend, ULM continues non-conference play at fellow Sun Belt Conference foe South Alabama. The Warhawks will meet SFA for the second-consecutive weekend at 2:30 p.m. Sept. 18. ULM then meets the host Jaguars for two non-conference matches starting at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 18 and 3 p.m. on the Sept. 19.
Sun Belt Conference play begins on the final weekend of September as the Warhawks visit defending conference champion Texas State. All conference weekends in 2020 will feature multiple matches against the same opponent. ULM and Texas State will meet at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Sept. 25 and wrap up the series at 1 p.m. on Sept. 26.
ULM opens its home slate on the first weekend of October as the rival Ragin' Cajuns visit Fant-Ewing Coliseum. The Warhawks and Cajuns are scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. Oct. 2 and 1 p.m. Oct. 3.
The Warhawks visit Arkansas State for 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. matches on Oct. 9 and a 1 p.m. match on Oct. 10.
ULM wraps up non-conference play the following weekend, hosting Central Arkansas at 6 p.m. Oct. 16, and visiting the Bears at 3 p.m. Oct. 18.
Sun Belt play resumes against UT Arlington at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Oct. 23 at Fant-Ewing Coliseum. The series wraps up with a 1 p.m. match on Oct. 24.
ULM plays its final road matches of the regular season on Halloween weekend. The Warhawks visit the Ragin' Cajuns at 6 p.m. Oct. 30 and 1 p.m. Oct. 31.
The regular season comes to a close with a three-match series against Little Rock. ULM and the Trojans meet at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Nov. 6 with a 1 p.m. meeting on Nov. 7.
The weekend of Nov. 13-14 is open to make up any potential postponed weekends ahead of the 12-team Sun Belt Conference Championship, currently set for November 18-22 at Troy.
