MONROE, La. – Despite a strong start by ULM, the Warhawk volleyball team fell 3-0 (26-24, 25-8, 25-20) against the Texas State Bobcats inside Fant-Ewing Coliseum Friday night.
ULM dropped its 14th straight game while the Bobcats increased their win streak to 11 games.
Texas State held firmly to their lead through much of the first set. Kills from freshman

Cali Assaley brought ULM into a 7-7 tie with the Bobcats. Later in the set, junior
Hailey Hughes delivered two kills which gave ULM its first lead at 21-20. Another kill from Assaley and a Bobcat error gave ULM the lead back and put ULM at set point, 24-23. The Bobcats changed the momentum of the set and scored three straight points to take set one, 26-24.
The second set was all Bobcats. Texas State hit seven scoring runs while ULM could not score back-to-back for the entire set, as the Bobcats cruised to a 25-8 win.
ULM had another slow start to the third set. After trailing 5-1 to start the set, Assaley hit three kills to cut the deficit to just one score. Texas State went up 19-10, which sparked a late game surge by ULM. The Warhawks trimmed the margin down, but the Bobcats reached set point at 24-17. ULM pieced together a three-score run. However, Texas State got the final point to win 25-20.
Assaley led with 19 kills for ULM. Junior
Mariana Volponi e Giordan dished out 26 assists in the contest. Freshman
Cameron Rogers finished the night with 17 digs.
