LAFAYETTE, La. – The ULM track and field team finished the second day of competition at the Louisiana Classics with 24 Top-10 finishes on Saturday, March 20, giving the Warhawks 36 total at the weekend event, hosted by Louisiana-Lafayette.

Ten Warhawks finished among the Top 5 on Saturday with
Eric Hawkins and
Ronald Henderson Jr., winning their respective events. Hawkins claimed first place in the men's 800-meter run, crossing the line in 1:54.09 while Henderson grabbed first in the men's high jump, clearing 6 feet, 11 1/2 inches.

The top individual finisher for the ULM women's team was
Alivia Busch, who placed second in the shot put with a toss of 42-4 3/4. Joining her among Top-10 finishers in the event was
Rebekka Schubert, who took eighth with a mark of 34-7 3/4.

The ULM women's 4x400-meter relay team of
Brittney Roberson,
Fiebe Tengrootenhuysen,
Jasmine Williams,
Stella Konstantinidou earned second place with a combined time of 3:48.05.

Brandon Lewis reached the podium in the men's 400-meter hurdles, placing second with a time of 55.46.

Hannah Blood narrowly missed a spot on the podium in the women's hammer throw, reaching 183-4 to capture fourth place. Teammate
Hayden Holloway also performed well in the event, finishing eighth with a distance of 163-9.

Sharon Jerono and
Jasmine Williams claimed fifth in the 800-meter run and 400-meter hurdles, respectively. Jerono finished with a time of 2:19.71 in the 800 while Williams crossed the line in 1:04.80 in the 400 hurdles.

The men's team received fifth-place finishes from
Cole Burgess in the pole vault and
Jakob Fudge in the hammer throw. Burgess established a career best in the pole vault, clearing 15-1 1/2, while Fudge recorded a throw of 174-6 in the hammer. Three other Warhawks posted Top 10 distances in the hammer throw, including Jacob Houston (sixth at 155-11),
Callan Saldutto (seventh at 150-6) and
Chapman Bazer (10th at 132-5).

The Warhawks return to action March 25-27 at the Texas Relays in Austin.
