Kreps Earns Second Career Sun Belt Player of the Week Honor

MONROE, La. – ULM outfielder Korie Kreps was named Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week after helping the Warhawks to a doubleheader sweep of Georgia Southern on Saturday. The honor is voted on by the conference's head coaches and was announced Tuesday by the conference office.
 
It is the second time Kreps has been named Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week. She earned the honor on Feb. 25, 2020.
 
Kreps went 5-for-7 in the two games on Saturday with a double, home run, three RBIs, five runs scored, two walks and a stolen base.
 
In the first game of the doubleheader, Kreps led off the game with a solo home run. With ULM trailing 3-1 with no runners on base and one out in the top of the seventh inning, Kreps came through with a single back up the middle to spark a four-run rally by the Warhawks. She eventually scored on Jayden Mount's double as ULM went on to the 5-3 win.
 
In game two, Kreps had a leadoff single in the top of the first inning and scored on Mount's single. She hit a two RBI double down the left field line in the second inning to give ULM a 4-1 lead. She came around to score on Mount's home run. With one out in the fourth inning, Kreps singled to left and scored on Madelyn Fletcher's single for an 8-1 advantage.
 
Kreps leads the Warhawks in batting average (.381), hits (24), doubles (9), home runs (3, tied with Mount) and walks (16). She ranks second in the Sun Belt Conference in walks per game (0.73) and on base percentage (.512), third in batting average (.381) and doubles (9), fourth in slugging percentage (.698) and seventh in total bases (44).
 
The Warhawks are scheduled to host Southeastern Louisiana at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the ULM Softball Complex.
