Warhawks Host Georgia State for Senior Weekend

MONROE, La. – The ULM softball team closes out the 2021 home schedule this weekend hosting Georgia State for senior weekend at the ULM Softball Complex.
 
Saturday's games will be carried on ESPN+ with first pitch at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. Sunday's game begins at 11 a.m. with the Senior Day festivities prior to the game. Alysia Anderson, Rylee Lara, Jayden Mount and Charlie Names will be recognized ahead of their final games in Monroe.
 
The Warhawks (14-27 overall, 4-12 Sun Belt Conference) have dropped seven of their last eight games and are in eighth place in the Sun Belt Conference standings with two series remaining on the schedule. ULM picked up a 5-3 win at Grambling State on Tuesday before dropping Wednesday's game at McNeese State, 6-1.
 
Georgia State (14-24, 2-14) has lost six of its last seven games, with its only win in that stretch coming over Coastal Carolina, 3-2 in nine innings, in the first game of an April 17 doubleheader. The Panthers have been off since playing at Kennesaw State on April 21, an 8-0 loss.
 
Junior Korie Kreps continues to pace ULM with a .344 batting average and leads the team with 42 hits, 12 doubles, three triples, 25 walks, .460 on-base percentage and .556 slugging percentage.
 
She is followed closely by Mount. The Longview, Texas native enters the final home series of her career with a .328 batting average, 41 hits, and eight doubles. She leads the team with four homers, 20 RBIs and 26 runs scored. Mount has been a force in Sun Belt Conference play, leading the team with a .411 batting average, 23 hits, six doubles, three home runs, eight walks, .485 on-base percentage and .679 slugging percentage. She is second on the team in conference games with 10 RBIs and 11 runs scored.
 
Junior Kennedy Johnson is the third Warhawk hitting over .300 on the season, sitting at .311 with five doubles, one triple, one home run, 18 RBIs, 15 runs scored and seven walks.
 
In the circle, freshman left hander Gianni Hulett has thrown the lion's share of innings for the Warhawks, posting a 4-7 record with a 3.73 ERA over 90 innings with 41 strikeouts. Amber Coons leads the team with 52 strikeouts in 43 innings.
 
Georgia State is paced by three players hitting over the .300 mark. Bailee Richardson leads the way at .339 and has five doubles, six home runs, 27 RBIs and a team-high 15 walks. Daisy Hess supplies the power, hitting .331 with 10 doubles, one triple, nine home runs, 36 RBIs, 30 runs scored and 13 walks. Emily Brown is hitting .323 with three doubles, one triple, two home runs, 12 RBIs, 21 runs scored and 10 walks. Baylee Sexton has stolen 15 bases.
 
In the circle, Sophie Mooney leads the Panthers with a 6-9 record and 4.02 ERA over 78 1/3 innings with 57 strikeouts. Emily Buck is 3-4 with a 4.20 ERA over 51 2/3 innings with 23 strikeouts.
