Grant Schulz and sophomore second baseman
Travis Washburn have each been selected to the 2021 All-Sun Belt Conference Second Team, as selected by the conference's coaches and announced Monday afternoon.
Schulz leads the Warhawks with a .333 batting average, which ranks fourth in the Sun Belt Conference. He has 10 doubles, one triple, three home runs, 27 RBIs, 20 runs scored and 12 walks while playing in 40 games with 33 starts on the season. Schulz has been a big part of ULM's late-season surge. In the final 21 games, a stretch in which ULM went 16-5 (8-3 in the SBC), Schulz hit .455 with eight doubles, two home runs, 17 RBIs, 16 runs scored and five walks.
Washburn is second on the team in batting average at .325, which ranks eighth in the SBC. Washburn has played in 43 games with 39 starts, collecting eight doubles, two triples, two home runs, 16 RBIs, 28 runs scored, 11 walks and nine stolen bases. He also has been an integral part of ULM's late-season success, hitting .382 over the final 21 games with five doubles, one home run, 12 RBIs, 15 runs scored, five walks and five stolen bases.
