Warhawks Return Home to Face Little Rock, Georgia Southern

MONROE, La. – The ULM soccer team puts its unbeaten start to the season on the line in a pair of home Sun Belt Conference matches, entertaining Little Rock and Georgia Southern at Brown Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. Friday vs. Little Rock before Georgia Southern visits at 11 a.m. Sunday.
 
The Warhawks (7-0-1 overall, 1-0-1 Sun Belt Conference) lead the Sun Belt Conference and rank second in NCAA Division I in scoring at 4.12 goals per game. The Warhawks lead the nation in shots (27.62 shots per game) and shots on goal (14.25 shots on goal per game). ULM also leads the SBC in assists (3.25 per game, ninth nationally) and points per game (11.5 per game, second nationally).
 
Junior Courtney Marten is the reigning SBC Offensive Player of the Week. Marten set the new single-season program record with 11 goals while playing in just six of eight matches so far this season. She became the first Warhawk to score a hat trick in her career with a three-goal day at Coastal Carolina on Sunday. She has scored at least one goal in all six matches in which she has played.
 
Senior Theoni Zerva has scored six goals and added six assists. Zerva had a goal and an assist at Georgia State on Thursday and added three assists at CCU on Sunday. She needs two more assists to tie the single-season program record.
 
Senior Ermelinda Pantaleao has scored three times, including two goals on Sunday at CCU. Freshmen Inge Konst and Mara Grutkamp have scored twice each. Konst has four assists and Grutkamp has picked up three.
 
Junior goalkeeper Hailey Hillock is 5-0-1 in goal with a 0.98 goals against average and a .793 save percentage.
 
The Warhawks snapped a 31-match winless streak in the Sun Belt with Sunday's 6-1 win at Coastal Carolina. ULM is seeking its first consecutive wins in SBC play since opening conference play 3-0 in 2016.
 
Little Rock is 16-7 all-time against ULM. The Trojans are 5-3-3 on the season and are 1-0-2 in the SBC. Jana Heinen leads Little Rock with three goals and two assists while playing all 11 matches. Bergros Asgeirsdottir and Fanney Einarsdottir have two goals and one assist each. Three goalkeepers have split time in net for the Trojans, with Paige Henry earning five starts in six appearances with a 0.48 goals against average and a .824 save percentage.
 
Georgia Southern is 5-1 all-time against ULM. The Eagles are 6-4-2 on the season and 1-1-1 in the SBC. Marcela Montoya and Ellis Nemtsov have six goals each to lead Southern. Montoya has three assists while Nemtsov has one. Megan Przybysz and Vala Kristin Theodorsdottir have two goals apiece. Michaela English has started all 12 games in net and has a 0.89 goals against average with a .847 save percentage.
