MONROE, La – The ULM volleyball team takes on McNeese at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Rec Complex in Lake Charles.
The two teams faced off on Friday at the Flo Hyman Collegiate Cup in Houston, with the Cowgirls besting the Warhawks, 3-0. The loss snapped the Warhawks' three-game win streak.
Since last playing McNeese, the ULM offense has been limited. ULM had one set of 20-or-more points against both Mississippi State and Houston. Against McNeese, the Warhawks scored 20-or-more points in two of their three sets, including forcing the second set to 27-25.
Senior Cali Assaley led the Warhawks with nine kills in the first meeting. Junior Mariana Volponi e Giordan led ULM with 17 assists. Overall, the Cowgirls led in kills 40-32.
McNeese also struggled in the Flo Hyman Collegiate Cup. The Cowgirls' only win in the tournament came against ULM. McNeese was swept 3-0 by Mississippi State and lost 3-1 against undefeated Houston. ULM and McNeese both have a win over Lamar earlier in the season.
