MONROE, La. – The ULM soccer team continues non-conference play with a 7 p.m. match vs. Alcorn State Friday at Brown Stadium before heading on the road to Southern at 1 p.m. Sunday in Baton Rouge.
The Warhawks (3-0) have not played an official match since a 1-0 win at Grambling State on Aug. 29. Sunday's match at Northwestern State was ruled a no contest after two lightning delays forced the stoppage of the scoreless match in the 61st minute.
The Warhawks are 3-0 for just the third time in program history and are playing for just the second 4-0 start in program history, which was accomplished by the 2014 team.
ULM has four different goal scorers this season with
Ermelinda Pantaleao and
Theoni Zerva scoring against Texas Southern,
Janet Stopka finding the back of the net against Central Arkansas and
Courtney Marten tallied the game winner at Grambling State.
Mara Grutkamp has assisted on three of the four goals. Stopka and Lena Göppel have collected an assist each.
Defensively, goalkeeper
Hailey Hillock is coming off back-to-back clean sheets against UCA and GSU. Hillock has a .909 save percentage and 0.32 goals against average.
Friday's match is the third all-time meeting between ULM and Alcorn, with ULM leading the series 2-0. The Warhawks topped the Braves, 4-0, in Lorman, Mississippi on March 26 with Stopka scoring twice and assisting on a third goal in the match.
Sunday's match at Southern is the 10th all-time meeting between ULM and Jaguars, with the Warhawks leading the series 9-0. ULM defeated Southern, 3-0, at Brown Stadium on Feb. 13. Stopka scored twice against Southern as well.
