MONROE, La. - The ULM Warhawks return to Fant-Ewing Coliseum for one game before returning to the road for the remainder of the month as they entertain South Alabama at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. It is one of two home games in the month of January for ULM.

Thursday's game will air on ESPN+ with Chris Harris (play-by-play) and Mike Vining (analyst) on the call. The game will also be broadcast on 105.7 FM/540 AM KMLB, KMLB.com and the TuneIn app on the Warhawk Radio Network from Learfield with Mike Hammett on the play-by-play.

Thursday's game marks the 30th all-time meeting between the Warhawks and Jaguars with South Alabama leading the series, 20-9. The Jags have won the last seven meetings dating back to ULM's 67-54 win in Mobile on Feb. 25, 2016. ULM last defeated USA in Monroe on Jan. 31, 2015, a 55-53 victory. The Jaguars have won the last four meetings in Fant-Ewing Coliseum. The two teams did not meet last season due to divisional play enacted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. USA swept the season series in 2019-20, winning 72-63 in Mobile on Jan. 11, 2020, and 73-39 in Monroe on Feb. 8, 2020.

True freshman Bre Sutton earned her second consecutive start at Arkansas State and once again scored in double figures, matching a career-high with 15 points to lead the team. She scored 11 points in her first career start on Jan. 1 vs. UT Arlington.

True freshman Katlyn Manuel reached double figures for the third time in her career on Saturday at A-State, scoring 14 points while leading the team with eight rebounds. She has started each of the last six games, averaging 9.3 points and 7.5 rebounds per game during that stretch, compared to 5.8 points and 5.5 rebounds per game for the entire season.b

ULM shot 45.0 percent (27-of-60) from the field at Arkansas State, its third best shooting percentage this season. It ranks behind a 45.8% effort (22-of-48) vs. Alcorn on Dec. 4 and 45.2% (28-of-62) vs. Centenary on Nov. 22.

South Alabama is 6-7 overall and has yet to play a Sun Belt Conference contest due to COVID-19 protocols. The Jaguars did not play either App State or Coastal Carolina on New Year's weekend, nor did they make the trip to play UTA or Texas State last week. USA last played on Dec. 21, an 89-50 loss at Georgia.

The Jaguars have deployed a balanced offensive attack through the non-conference slate, with no players averaging in double figures. Jaylin Powell leads the team at 9.6 points per game and 4.3 rebounds per contest. Dee Haymer is averaging 9.1 points and 3.4 rebounds per game. Mahogany Vaught is averaging 7.8 points and 3.0 rebounds per game while handing out a team-high 33 assists. USA is averaging 60.4 points per game and shooting 35.9% from the floor.

ULM and USA have one common opponent. The Warhawks lost at Southern Miss, 77-60, on Nov. 13, while the Jaguars lost to the Golden Eagles in Mobile, 71-51, on Dec. 5.
