MONROE, La. - The ULM Warhawks open their longest road swing of the season at 2 p.m. Saturday when they visit the defending Sun Belt Conference Champion Troy Trojans at Trojan Arena. It is the first meeting between the Warhawks and Trojans since Feb. 5, 2020, in Troy.

Saturday's game will air on ESPN+. The game will also be broadcast on 105.7 FM/540 AM KMLB, KMLB.com and the TuneIn app on the Warhawk Radio Network from Learfield with Mike Hammett on the play-by-play.

Saturday's game marks the 26th all-time meeting between ULM and Troy, with the Warhawks having a slight 13-12 advantage in the series. However, Troy has won the last seven meetings and nine of the last 10 in the series. The Trojans won the last meeting, 77-65, in Troy. ULM last defeated the Trojans, 77-73, on Jan. 21, 2016, in Monroe. The Warhawks last defeated the Trojans in Troy, 83-72, on Jan. 16, 2014. Troy has won five straight games at home against ULM.

Second-year freshman Kyren Whittington continued her breakout season Thursday night, setting another new career-high with 26 points against South Alabama. It's the second time any Warhawk has broken the 20-point mark this season. She ranks ninth in the SBC at 12.9 points per game. She is averaging 17.3 points per game in four SBC contests this year, which ranks 10th in conference-only contests.

Fifth-year senior Kierra Crockett returned to the lineup Thursday night after missing five games due to an injury. She provided seven points, five rebounds and two blocks in 24 minutes off the bench. She suffered an injury in the fourth quarter of the Northwestern State game on Dec. 15 and missed contests vs. McNeese, Mississippi Valley State, Texas State, UT Arlington and Arkansas State.

Second-year freshman Sassy McDowell scored seven points in a one minute, 21 second stretch of the second quarter on Thursday vs. South Alabama. Her personal scoring stretch closed a 12-point deficit to five. McDowell added a career-high 13 rebounds, including 10 offensive boards.

Troy is 12-6 overall and 3-1 in the Sun Belt Conference after Thursday's 92-83 loss against the Ragin' Cajuns in Lafayette. The Trojans had an eight-game winning streak snapped with the loss.

The Trojans are the top team in the nation in pace, or possessions per 40 minutes, according to HerHoopStats.com. Troy averages 82.9 possessions per 40 minutes. The Trojans are the top rebounding team in the SBC at 49.1 rebounds per game. Troy ranks third in the SBC in scoring offense at 80.9 points per game.

Amber Leggett, a transfer from Sam Houston, leads the Trojans at 14.3 points per game, which ranks fifth in the SBC. She was the Southland Conference Player of the Year last season for the Bearkats. Felmas Koranga, the reigning SBC Newcomer of the Year, is second on the team at 13.9 points per game and leads the SBC at 9.4 rebounds per game. Tiyah Johnson is third on the team at 10.3 points per game. Jasmine Robinson leads the team and is fourth in the SBC at 4.6 assists per game. Jhileyia Dunlap leads the SBC at 2.3 blocks per game.
