JONESBORO, Ark. – Keya Patton exploded for a career-high 30 points, all in the first half, as Arkansas State led by 20 at halftime and picked up a 98-70 win over ULM Saturday afternoon at First National Bank Arena.
Patton hit 7-of-9 from 3-point range in the first half and did not add to her scoring total in the second half. Her four-point play at the 2:46 mark of the first quarter gave the Red Wolves life, as they cut a 14-7 ULM (4-13 overall, 0-3 Sun Belt Conference) lead to 14-11. A-State (8-7, 1-1) closed the quarter on a 12-1 run, with seven of the points from Patton, to lead 19-15 after a frame.
The Red Wolves continued to build on the lead in the second quarter, using an 11-0 run to push a seven-point lead to 18 at 41-23 on a layup by Patton. A-State led 51-31 at halftime.
The Red Wolves pushed the lead to as much as 31 in the third quarter at 70-39 on a 3-pointer by Mailyn Wilkerson.
A-State knocked down a school-record 16 3-pointers in the win, shooting 48% from the field (34-of-71) and 49% from deep (16-of-33). ULM shot 45% from the floor (27-of-60) but was 1-of-5 from 3-point range.

Katlyn Manuel added 14 points and a team-high eight rebounds.
In addition to Patton, A-State had a 16-point, 10-rebound double-double from Trinitee Jackson. Wilkerson finished with 12 points.
ULM entertains South Alabama at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Fant-Ewing Coliseum.
