SAN MARCOS, Texas - The ULM Warhawks play their final road game of the 2021-22 season at 2 p.m. Saturday when they take on Texas State at Strahan Arena in San Marcos, Texas.

Saturday's game will air on ESPN+ with Brant Freeman on play-by-play and Suzanne Fox as the analyst. The game will also be broadcast on 105.7 FM/540 AM KMLB, KMLB.com and the TuneIn app on the Warhawk Radio Network from Learfield with Mike Hammett on the play-by-play.

Saturday's game marks the 62nd all-time meeting between ULM and Texas State with the Warhawks leading the series, 32-29. The Bobcats won the first meeting this year, 58-50, on Dec. 30 in Monroe and have won six straight games in the series. ULM last defeated Texas State, 58-55, in San Marcos on Jan. 16, 2020.

Second-year freshman Kyren Whittington had an all-around effort in Thursday's 77-50 loss at UT Arlington. Whittington totaled 15 points while matching a season-high with six rebounds and adding three assists. She is averaging 14.4 points and three rebounds per game on the season. The average jumps up to 17.7 points and 4.1 rebounds per game within SBC games. Over the last five contests, she averaging 18.2 points and 4.6 rebounds per game in the last five contests.

Fifth-year senior Kierra Crockett reached double figures for the sixth time this season and the first time since Dec. 15 vs. Northwestern State when she scored 10 points on Thursday at UT Arlington. Crockett added four rebounds. She has missed seven games due to injuries in the 2021-22 season, but returned to the starting lineup for the first time since Dec. 15 on Monday vs. Arkansas State.

Put in a starting point guard role for the first time this season, sophomore Gara Beth Self responded with a career-high matching five assists at UT Arlington. Self played 26 minutes, adding two points, one rebound and one steal.

Texas State is 12-11 overall and 7-4 in the Sun Belt Conference after Thursday's 72-71 overtime win over the Ragin' Cajuns on Lauryn Thompson's putback at the buzzer. The Bobcats have won four consecutive games, all decided by six points or less.

The Bobcats are led by Da'Nasia Hood. She leads the team at 17.1 points per game, which is third in the SBC, and 8.1 rebounds per game, which is sixth in the SBC. She also leads the team in blocks (10) and is second in steals (35). Kennedy Taylor is second on the team with 10.9 points per game and leads the SBC at 6.5 assists per game. She leads the team and ranks fourth in the SBC at 1.8 steals per game. Thompson is third on the team at 8.2 points per game and is second in rebounding at 5.9 boards per game.

As a team, Texas State leads the SBC in 3-point field goal percentage defense (.273), assists (16.3 apg.), and defensive rebounding percentage (.721) and ranks second in field goal percentage (.434), 3-point field goal percentage (.310) and rebounding defense (34.9).
