HOUSTON, Texas – The ULM beach volleyball team split its matches on opening weekend at the Houston Baptist Tournament on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 25-26. The Warhawks lost the opener to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, 4-1, and the final match of the weekend to HBU, 4-1, and defeated New Orleans, 3-2, and Southeastern, 4-1, in the middle two matches at Third Coast Volleyball.
ULM plays its first of two home tournaments this weekend, entertaining Stephen F. Austin, Nicholls, HBU and SLU at the ULM Beach Volleyball Courts on Friday and Saturday.

ULM bounced back to close out Friday with a 3-2 win over New Orleans, as the Warhawks earned wins on courts 2, 4 and 5.
Gallant and Adams picked up the win on court No. 2, topping Maxine Walsh and Hannah Volpi, 2-1 (21-23, 21-17, 15-9). At No. 4 court, Moreland and Hoven swept Liz Gialanella and Taylore Louveire, 2-0 (21-16, 22-20). On court No. 5, Black and Bufkin rallied for a 2-1 win, 17-21, 21-14, 15-5, over Hailey Melerine and Tara Goolsby.
UNO won on court No. 1, as Lucie Pokorna and Ania Essarte defeated Brooks and Blazek, 2-0 (24-22, 21-17). The Privateers also took court No. 3, as Trinity Jackson and Alexa Spartz bested Elder and Nowak, 2-0 (21-17, 21-14).

The Warhawks rolled to a 4-1 win to open play on Saturday, picking up wins on courts 1, 3, 4 and 5 over the Lions.
Brooks and Blazek earned their first win of the season, 2-0 (21-13, 21-16), against Hannah Barosh and Hannah Brewer on court 1. Nowak and Elder also earned their first win, 2-1 (9-21, 21-18, 15-11), rallying past Michelle Mirarchi and Avery Carroll on court 3. On court 4, Hoven and Mooreland moved to 3-0 with a 2-0 (21-12, 21-16) win over Linsey Sackett and Eryn Wilks. ULM's final point came on court 5 as Bufkin and Black came back for a 2-1 (20-22, 21-19, 15-13) win over Mabry Ward and Jackie McGee to move to 2-1.
SLU picked up its only win on court 2 as Jolie Hidalgo and Meagan Scuderi defeated Gallant and Adams, 2-1 (9-21, 21-18, 15-11).

Houston Baptist took courts 2-5 to pick up a 4-1 win over ULM to close the HBU Tournament.
Brooks and Blazek had ULM's only win, coming on court 1 over Brennan Miller and Maddie Butters, 2-0 (21-17, 21-19), to close the weekend at 2-2.
On court 2, Lauren Huggins and Alison Stanfill swept Gallant and Adams, 21-17, 23-21. Lindsay Harris and Kristen Kleymeyer topped Nowak and Elder on court 3, 2-0 (21-14, 21-19). On court 4, Shelby O'Neal and Gabi Axelrod held off Moreland and Hoven's rally, 2-1 (21-11, 18-21, 15-12). Kylann Griffith and Abbey Reinard continued the HBU run on court 5 with a 2-0 (21-12, 21-9) win over Bufkin and Black.
