LAFAYETTE, La. – Eunice Ilunga Mbuyi swept the long jump and triple jump to headline 13 Top-5 finishes for the ULM track and field teams on the second day of the Louisiana Classics Saturday at the Ragin' Cajuns Soccer and Track Facility.
Ilunga Mbuyi claimed the first long jump title of her career with a leap of 19-1.5, while she took her third triple jump title, including the indoor season, with a distance of 42-6.
ULM took four of the top five spots in the women's long jump.
Olaia Becerril Alvarez was second at 18-11.75,
Rebekka Schubert was third at 18-8 and
Nasya Ramirez was fifth at 18-7.
Hannah Blood and
Jasmine Williams also had runner-up finishes for the women. Blood was second in the hammer throw with a heave of 181-9, while Williams was second in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:01.61.
Amanda Radava also placed fifth in the 400 hurdles in 1:04.61.
On the men's side,
Juwan Blignaut and
Rojs Puks finished in the Top 5 in the men's 1500 meters. Blignaut was third in 3:58.31 and Puks was fifth in 4:00.91.
Ali Eren Unlu placed third in the high jump in his first outdoor meet, clearing 6-6.75.
Joseph McEvoy was fifth at 6-4.75.
Jakob Fudge was fourth in the hammer throw with a personal-record toss of 185-8.
ULM heads to Austin and San Marcos, Texas, next weekend for the Texas Relays and the Bobcat Relays, respectively, beginning on Thursday and continuing through Saturday.
