ULM Tennis Swept by Georgia State, 4-0

ATLANTA – The ULM tennis team dropped its second Sun Belt Conference match of the weekend, losing 4-0 at Georgia State on Sunday, March 27. The Panthers, who completed a weekend sweep over the Ragin' Cajuns (5-0) and the Warhawks (4-0), have won seven of their last eight matches overall.
 
Georgia State (12-5, 5-1 Sun Belt) opened the match with back-to-back doubles victories to grab a 1-0 lead. On court three, Eva Chivu and Pragnya Kumar defeated Alessandra Anghel and Jimena Garbino, 6-3, and Andreea Stanescu and Ellie Aldrich followed with a 6-4 win over Hala Badwy and Daniela Hernandez on court two.
 
The Panthers completed the sweep by winning three singles matches in straight sets. Chivu posted a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Badwy at the No. 1 position. Sofya Golubovskaya notched a 6-3, 6-3 win over Anghel on court two and Angel Carney clinched the match for GSU with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Giovanna Pereira on court five.
 
ULM resumes Sun Belt play with a pair of road matches next weekend: Friday, April 1 at Coastal Carolina (10 a.m. ET) and Saturday, April 3 at App State (10 a.m. ET).
